Roxana Slavcheva

Global Lead for Built Environment, World Resources Institute

Roxana Slavcheva is the Global Lead for Built Environment at World Resources Institute, where she leads an international policy team focusing on a multilevel governance approach to subnational and national building decarbonization pathways that are resilient, regenerative and equitable.

Trained as urban economist and liveability expert, she has advised cities globally over the past decade. Roxana led the international strategy for Connected Places Catapult, the UK’s leading research and innovation accelerator for mobility and the built environment. Prior to that, she was Head of the Cities Practice at The Economist Intelligence Unit, Researcher at LSE Cities, steering committee member of the UK's Academy of Urbanism Young Urbanists network, and expert advisor to the European Commission’s Net Zero Cities Pilot program.

Roxana graduated with MSc in Urban Economic Development from University College London and BAs in Economics and International Relations from Boston University in the US.
