Mike Hakata
Mike Hakata currently serves as the Deputy Leader of Haringey Council and Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Environment and Transport, responsible for overseeing the borough's ambitious climate action plan and driving forward initiatives to reduce carbon, air pollution, promote active and sustainable travel, and enhance green spaces.
Haringey has made significant strides in reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices. The borough is planting thousands of trees as part of its Urban Forest programme, launched a pioneering energy retrofit program for council housing and introduced a network of low-traffic neighbourhoods.
