Dr Laura Schade is a Senior Energy Engineer at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in the UK Government in a team of energy engineering professionals that supply independent advice to UK Ministers on how the UK can achieve complete decarbonisation by 2050.

Her current interests include looking at how information and communication technologies can be leveraged to make the transition to a low carbon economy easier. This includes technologies arising from the rollout of 5G and the use of satellite communication, within the context of the transition to a smart grid.
