Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh

Mayor, City of Malm'
Katrin is a politician of the Social Democratic Party who has been the Mayor of the City of Malmö, Sweden, since 1 July 2013. She is the first woman to hold the office in Malmö. She brings to this position a wealth of experience and has during her time as a politician consistently worked towards making sure that Malmö becomes a city where people of all origin and background can feel welcome and prosper. Before becoming the Mayor of Malmö, Katrin was as a politician in Malmö in charge of healthcare issues and prior to that, school and education as well as welfare and security. Trained as a Political Scientist at Lund University, Katrin has previously also worked as a communication consultant as well as a writer for the newspaper 'Arbetet' for several years. She served as a commissioner in the National School Commission and was on the board of the Swedish National Pension Fund, is currently on the national board of Sweden's Municipalities and Counties, is a part of the national Agenda 2030 delegation, as well as the first vice president of ICLEI, and serves as Chairman of Procura+, a part of the ICLEI network which is focused on public procurement.
