Following studies in Civil Engineering and Engineering Geology, Jonas worked 20 years as environmental and waste management consultant, based in Sweden, Japan, Malaysia and Denmark. He also held a position as Assistant Technical Attaché at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2007, Jonas joined the EIB in Luxembourg, and following many years of due diligence and monitoring of solid waste and circular economy projects, he is now focusing on circular economy advisory work, primarily for cities and banks.
