James Mitchell works as Head of Impact at RMI's Center for Climate-Aligned Finance. He led the development of the Poseidon Principles, the first climate-aligned finance agreement for financial institutions. He then went on to become the founding director and director of sectoral initiatives at RMI's Center for Climate Aligned Finance, which delivered the Sustainable Steel Principles, the Sustainable Aluminum Finance Framework, the Pegasus Principles, and more across other hard-to-abate sectors. He has also held roles at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and Carbon War Room.
