Professor Guangtao Fu, professor of water intelligence at the University of Exeter, is a leading expert in urban water management. He specialises in the development of data analytics and artificial intelligence approaches to tackle water challenges focusing on urban flooding, stormwater and wastewater management. His work on deep learning models for flood prediction, leakage and contamination detection, and real-time system control has made a big impact in the field and provided the water industry with innovative solutions to tackle climate change impacts. He is a fellow of the International Water Association and was a Royal Society Industry Fellow (2017-2022).
