Dr. Bart de Leeuw is Head of Energy Storage and Flexibility Innovation at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). His team provide funding and support to innovative solutions to enable large-scale widespread electricity system flexibility. The team currently supporting innovative projects with over '130million through the Long Duration Energy Storage and the Flexibility Innovation Programmes, part of the DESNZ '1bn Net Zero Innovation Portfolio. Bart is Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers with over 12 years' experience developing and delivering innovation programmes in areas including Renewable Energy, Nuclear Energy and Smart Systems.
