Alexandra Howe
Alexandra is the Deputy Director for Climate Change and Environment (DD CCE) in the UK Ministry of Defence. This involves integrating Environmental Protection across the Defence Enterprise, building a multi-lateral international approach to Climate Security, and catalysing Climate and Environmental activity across Defence.
Before joining Defence Alexandra worked at in the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, leading teams across energy and climate change. Her work included whole gas system decarbonisation, ensuring gas security amidst global uncertainties, and delivering Northern Ireland Brexit electricity security.
Prior to this Alexandra worked outside the Civil Service in energy and climate change policy at the Imperial College Grantham Institute for Climate Change and Environment and at the Institution of Chemical Engineers. Alexandra has undertaken academic research in climate science and its impacts on the marine environment.
