Alasdair Lumsden
Alasdair is co-founder of Carbon Neutral Fuels (CNF), a UK-based Sustainable Aviation Fuel developer. Their flagship facility is Starling, a commercial-scale eSAF facility under development at Workington, Cumbria.
This facility will convert low-carbon electricity, captured carbon dioxide and water into 25,000 tonnes/year of synthetic kerosene with a 97% lifecycle GHG emissions reduction vs fossil kerosene. This is enough to deliver over 40% of the UK's mandated 2030 eSAF supply.
To date Starling has received £7.4m from the UK government. Alasdair will talk about the project's progress through engineering and permitting milestones as it moves towards a Final Investment Decision (FID) due next year, as well as discuss the UK's forthcoming Revenue Certainty Mechanism, a policy to enable large scale SAF projects to achieve bankability.
