In 2024, global investment in low-carbon technologies reached a record $2.1 trillion. Yet over 90% of this investment flowed to mature technologies like renewables, EVs and power grids. In contrast, critical emerging sectors – including clean hydrogen, carbon removal, and electrified heat – received only a fraction of the finance required to scale at the pace climate goals demand.
The Finance and Emerging Technology Forum will bring together public and private sector leaders to address the financial barriers slowing the transition. We’ll explore strategies to de-risk investment in emerging solutions, develop new financial mechanisms and accelerate capital flows into breakthrough technologies, markets and business models essential to a low-carbon future.
Key topics will include:
- Unlocking private capital for FOAK and emerging clean technologies.
- Building high-integrity carbon markets
- Scaling blended finance and innovative financial models
- Investing in nature finance to build resilient, competitive supply chains
- Creating policy frameworks that support financial innovation
- Mobilising capital for emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs)
