Quantum sensing for end-of-line battery testing

Improving the efficiency of battery production is essential for battery manufacturing in Europe to become competitive with producers in Asia. We present a novel use of quantum sensing technology to identify defects during battery manufacture in order to reduce waste and improve quality. We show results from a demonstrator system developed with a UK battery manufacturer that has been funded by Innovate UK. We are now working to deploy the system with battery manufacturers across Europe.
