Ports as Catalysts: Enabling the Clean Energy Shift

The decarbonisation of the maritime sector presents a unique opportunity for our ports to transform into clean energy hubs. This shift would not only reduce port emissions and accelerate the decarbonisation maritime shipping but also serve as a catalyst for advancing clean energy generation, storage and distribution solutions that can drive decarbonisation across the broader economy.

However, fully capitalising on this opportunity will require substantial infrastructure upgrades and the development of new systems and technologies to support future demands. In this session, our panellists will discuss the pivotal role of ports as enablers of the clean energy transition, focussing on how regulation and public sector financing can be harnessed to facilitate this transformation and accelerate decarbonisation across the wider economy.
