AI is a powerful tool that can help us anticipate, assess and respond to the causes and consequences of climate change. Some of AI’s capabilities include the ability to predict and monitor extreme weather events, identify and prioritise areas and populations that are most at risk from climate change and generate and test different climate scenarios and policy options for improving climate resilience.

In this session, our panellists will discuss the different ways in which AI is being developed and applied to help us in our efforts on climate adaptation and mitigation. We will also explore some of the best practices and principles for ensuring that AI is deployed in a responsible and sustainable way, and that it is inclusive of diverse and relevant stakeholders.
