DELIVERING REAL MODAL SHIFT AND TAKING THE POLICY LEAD AT DP WORLD SOUTHAMPTON

Incentivising more freight to move by rail today and accelerating UK’s net zero ambition.

In September 2023, DP World launched an innovative Modal Shift Programme trial at Southampton providing financial incentives for import containers moving by rail.

An estimated up to 30,000 tCO2e could be removed each year by choosing rail for import container shipments at Southampton. By April 2024, approximately £2m will have been paid out in incentives.
