LEARNING FROM THE PAST TO INNOVATE FOR THE FUTURE
Innovation is essential to transform in two or three decades a global energy system that has taken 150 years to build. Louise Kingham and Joanna Gosling will discuss how the UK can compete for investment and what is hindering innovation in the UK.
Louise will draw on bp’s own transition after more than 100 years as the UK’s flagship energy company, including its plans to invest up to £18 billion this decade in the UK’s energy system – from actions to help decarbonise oil and gas operations in the North Sea to revitalising Teesside with new technologies for producing hydrogen and capturing and storing carbon emissions.
