CalPac Resources is building the world's first green hydrogen copper refinery, shifting the barometer from CO2-intensive pyrometallurgy and strong-acid copper refining to a new green, clean, non-toxic hydrometallurgical process. CalPac Resources was founded in 2021 and is based across MSIP (Dundee's Green Industrial Hub) and Edinburgh. CalPac is part of a new industrial ecosystem: build UK capacity for safe, secure supply for critical energy transition materials. CalPac's feedstock is 100% UK waste copper, and introduces a circular economy to produce UK copper foils and plates for net zero industry.
