Presenting The Seventh Carbon Budget – Innovation Zero World 2025

In an insightful session at Innovation Zero 2025, Emma Pinchbeck, CEO of the Climate Change Committee, presented the CCC’s latest recommendations for the UK’s Seventh Carbon Budget for 2038 to 2042. She reflected on the UK’s progress in reducing emissions and outlined what is needed to stay on track in the decades ahead.

From electrifying homes and transport to restoring peatlands and upgrading energy infrastructure, Emma highlighted the key technologies and actions needed to reach a 91% reduction in emissions by 2040, while also noting that the benefits of decarbonisation, including economic savings, will start to materialise in the near future.
