Innovation Zero Insights Report: From Friction to Fluidity

The challenge facing the transition to a low-carbon economy is no longer one of technological innovation; it is one of implementation.

Across energy, mobility, industry, infrastructure and the built environment, climate technologies are emerging at speed. Yet many solutions continue to struggle to move beyond pilots and demonstrations into widespread deployment.

For innovators, barriers include having to navigate complex regulatory environments, lengthy procurement processes and financing structures that are often poorly suited to emerging technologies. Corporates face their own set of challenges, including building internal alignment across internal stakeholders and business functions, as well as implementing solutions across their broader value chains.

To explore these challenges, Innovation Zero and Sustainable Ventures convened climate tech innovators, corporate leaders, investors, policymakers and implementation specialists for a 90-minute working group session examining the frictions slowing adoption and the conditions required to create greater fluidity across corporate value chains.
