Verity Barton
Verity is a public policy and communications professional with more than 15 years’ experience in front line politics and public affairs consultancy. With a focus on heavily regulated industries, particularly in energy and financial services, she provides strategic advice to a range of clients to provide strategic advice, developing campaigns that are designed to have impact on the stakeholders that matter. In energy, Verity has advised a range of clients including the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association on its Road to COP26 campaign, the Building Engineering Services Association, the Electrical Contractors' Association, Liquid Gas UK, CPL Industries, EQTEC, UK Power Networks, and SSEN as well as Lightsource bp. More broadly, her other clients have included a credit ratings agency, the trade bodies for generic medicine manufacturers and battery manufacturers in the UK as well as micromobility providers, housebuilders, pensions investors and advisors and FinTechs, and helped establish the advisory board of a FTSE100 subsidiary. A seasoned panel moderator, Verity has facilitated and guided conversations including with MPs, senior government officials and C-Suite level business leaders. Before joining Instinctif, Verity served two terms in the Queensland Legislative Assembly before retiring in 2017.
