Sonali is a Partner and the Global Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) at Simmons & Simmons. Her role is instrumental in navigating the complex legal and policy landscapes surrounding ESG matters.
Drawing from her extensive background, including over a decade at Morgan Stanley where she seamlessly operated across legal and business functions, Sonali brings a comprehensive understanding of both perspectives to the forefront of ESG initiatives. This dual proficiency enables her to offer unparalleled guidance on the implications of ESG regulations for financial firms, investors and multinational corporations operating across diverse jurisdictions.
Sonali holds leadership positions in various ESG industry groups, actively contributing to policy discussions shaping the ESG landscape. Notably, she serves as the sole legal representative on the ESG Advisory Committee of the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and sits on the board of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF).
Beyond her professional commitments, Sonali chairs the Social Investment Business, the largest frontline social lender in the UK, and lends her expertise to the ocean charity Blue Marine Foundation (BMF) as a board member, demonstrating her commitment to driving positive social and environmental change.
