Simon is the founder and MD of Emral Carbon, a carbon markets consultancy business through which he advises companies and governments on legal, regulatory, transactional and policy matters relating to carbon markets and carbon dioxide removal (CDR). He is also founder of Jobs in Carbon, the global jobs board for carbon accounting, carbon markets and CDR, and author of the leading industry guide, “An Introduction to Carbon Markets”.

Earlier in his career, Simon spent 15 years as a structured finance and derivatives lawyer and was then CEO/Head of Europe for two leading international financial services trade associations, Chair of the Joint Trade Association Group (a roundtable comprised of 22 financial services trade associations), CEO of WokenUp (the global social media platform for the UN SDGs) and CEO of Climate Solutions.
