Simon Montague is Director of Corporate Affairs for the Global Infrastructure Investor Association (GIIA), membership body for the world’s leading private investors in infrastructure and advisors to the sector. GIIA works with governments, regulators, policy advisors, partner organisations and other stakeholders to promote the role of private investment in closing the funding gap between the energy, transport, digital and water infrastructure that societies need and that governments can afford. GIIA members have more than $2 trillion in assets under management across 68 countries.

Simon is a former Director of Communications with National Highways (2017-2022), the Foreign Office in Spain (2010-2016) and high-speed train operator Eurostar (2006-2009), where he played a leading part in launching the company’s Tread Lightly environmental campaign. He is also a former Transport Correspondent for BBC News. He has a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton.
