Sarah Cheesbrough
Sarah Cheesbrough is a Mission Manager for Resilient Earth at the Satellite Applications Catapult, where she leads work focused on Clean Energy and Infrastructure. She is an expert in satellite Earth observation technologies and their application to global sustainability challenges, with a particular focus on addressing emissions blind spots and improving transparency across complex systems.
With over eight years’ experience in the space and geospatial sector, Sarah specialises in supporting space businesses to grow by connecting cutting-edge satellite capabilities with real-world market needs. She works closely with companies to translate satellite data, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics into commercially viable solutions for industry, government and regulators. Her work enables organisations to better understand and act on emissions across fragmented and often opaque supply chains, helping to identify hidden hotspots, verify environmental claims and manage climate-related risks.
Sarah has led programmes exploring the use of satellite data for greenhouse gas monitoring, including methane emissions, working with partners across the public and private sectors to accelerate adoption. She is passionate about unlocking the commercial value of space data, strengthening the UK space sector, and enabling businesses to deliver impactful solutions that support climate accountability and the transition to a more sustainable global economy.
