Dr Laurence Chittock is a Principal Transport Modeller for PTV UK who leads on innovation projects using PTV software, in particular specialising in methods that support decarbonisation. He joined PTV in 2019 to lead on the delivery of the Charge project, a study in collaboration with a grid operator (DNO) to assess and model the charging needs of electric vehicles. Since then he has lead on the development of an activity-based model for Cambridgeshire to help assess active mode infrastructure and improved bus services.

He has a background as a researcher, having completed his PhD in 2015: designing an infrastructure location model to help site electric vehicle charging stations. He also worked in the power sector, investigating low-carbon methods for the electricity grid, and is the author of several papers in journals and international conferences. He sits as an abstract reviewer for the European Transport Conference and is a frequent speaker at leading industry events.
