Kristina Miskowiak Beckvard
As a member of the Danish Foreign Service since 1998, Kristina Miskowiak Beckvard has had several postings in Europe. She was Ambassador to Sweden before taking up her posting as Ambassador to the United Kingdom in July 2025. Earlier in her career she was Ambassador to Estonia and was also posted to Vienna and Paris. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen she has had several managing positions and she has covered subjects ranging from security policy and legal affairs to gender equality and refugee matters as well as European and Nordic Affairs. She brings extensive experience in international relations, having worked closely in bilateral relations as well as with several multinational organisations including the EU, NATO, the United Nations and the OSCE.
Beyond her diplomatic career, Kristina has authored two books: Freedom of Speech and Responsibility (DJØF Publishing, 1998, in Danish) and The International Criminal Court: Consent, Complementarity and Cooperation (DJØF Publishing, 2000).
Kristina has maintained a warm connection to the United Kingdom since her postgraduate legal studies at King’s College London and Magdalene College at the University of Cambridge. She also has a keen personal interest in music and art history.
Kristina is married and has two children (and two dogs).
