I have been Head of Long Duration Electricity Storage (LDES) at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) since June 2024. I lead a small team of policy advisors who brief Ministers on LDES issues and help them implement initiatives, in particular the recently-announced Cap and Floor scheme.

I've spent almost a decade in public sector policy roles, most recently in HM Treasury but previously at MHCLG and the House of Commons, the latter including a stint on the staff of the Energy and Climate Change Committee.
