Dai Richards is an engineering graduate of Cambridge University, a Chartered Engineer and a Char-tered Marketer.

Dai began his career in the chemical industry, working for ICI in a number of operational and project management roles. In 2001 Dai joined ABB as a technical consultant working across a range of industry sectors, both in the UK and internationally.

He then went on to hold a number of senior commercial and marketing roles before moving into public affairs and Government relations. When Hitachi Energy was created in July 2020 Dai moved into his current role working on energy policy and energy sector market and technology development. Key areas of focus including the energy transition, delivering net-zero, offshore grids and the decarbonisation of transport.
