Claudia Neculau
Claudia is an Expert in soil remediation projects and circular economy, focused on secondary raw materials valorization.
To date, Claudia has more than 20 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer in Belgium. Since 2023 she is in charge of the coordination of several projects in the field of circular economy, the valorization of secondary raw materials, in partnership with private companies, research centers and universities, all members of REMIND WALLONIA ecosystem.
While working for Spaque, she managed and surveyed the execution of rehabilitation works for different polluted sites and she was involved in several European projects (H2020, Interreg NWE, etc.) as coordinator and partner.
She is fascinated by the valorization of secondary raw materials and is now coordinating 7 projects in circular economy financed by the Wallonia Government.
She is the task leader for “strategies for maximizing the reuse of excavated soil” within the Horizon Europe funded project ISLANDR.
She studied at a Hydrotechnical University in Romania, followed by a DESS degree in Public Relations and Environment in Paris. She has an Executive Master in Management from Solvay Business School (Brussels) and has recently obtained her certificate from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Circular Economy: Transition for Future Sustainability.
