London, Friday 25th April. On 29th- 30th April, the UK’s largest net zero congress, Innovation Zero World Congress 2025, will take place at Olympia London. Over 400 sector-leading speakers will be addressing the most urgent challenges and opportunities in the transition to a low carbon economy.

Presenting its most ambitious programme yet, and with over 10,000 delegates attending, Innovation Zero World is especially pleased to be welcoming some of the UK’s most influential decision makers, who are shaping energy policy and the net zero transition across the UK:

  • Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the new Secretary General of The Commonwealth, in one of her first public speeches since her appointment, will be speaking about the global united efforts required to tackle climate change as an existential threat to all Commonwealth nations.
  • John Flint, Chief Executive Officer of the National Wealth Fund will be discussing ‘How the National Wealth Fund is Fostering Sustainable Growth’.

In addition to policy leaders, Innovation Zero World will feature prominent voices from the energy and finance sectors:

  • Sir Alex Chisholm, Chair of EDF UK, will address how businesses implement the energy transition.
  • Greg Jackson, CEO of Octopus Energy, will explore how to bring down the price of the energy transition.
  • Marisa Drew, Chief Sustainability Officer at Standard Chartered, together with further leading financiers, will discuss the main barriers to scaling innovations through successive funding rounds.
  • Rachel Kyte, UK Special Representative for Climate. Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Energy Secretary of State Ed Miliband announced Rachel as the UK’s Special Representative for Climate in 2024, as part of the government's ambitions to restore the UK’s role as an international climate leader.
  • Andrew Forrest, Chairman, Fortescue Group. Andrew is the former Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA Group, and former CEO (and current non-executive chairman) of Fortescue Group. As one the world's most renowned entrepreneurs and philanthropic leaders, Andrew is dedicated to ending the use of fossil fuels, creating green energy solutions and tackling global challenges like climate change, conflict response, modern slavery and oceanic destruction through overfishing and plastic pollution.

Commenting on the Innovation Zero World Congress, Sir Alex Chisholm, Chair of EDF UK said:

“As we transition to a net zero economy, we need to make sure that this is done in the fairest possible way, bringing customers and communities along with us. Achieving this, and ensuring we can harness the significant opportunities for growth, will require new approaches and innovative thinking.

“In our transition to the low carbon economy, we need not only to hold the course, but also to learn as we go along, finding new ways to do things even better. The Innovation Zero World Congress will be a great opportunity to explore how innovation can provide solutions.”

Bringing together the most influential figures in the energy industry across the public, private and third sectors, Innovation Zero World is set to catalyse actionable partnerships, inspire collaboration, and drive forward tangible solutions to meet the country’s net zero goals.

Tim Mann, Co-Founder of Innovation Zero, also said:

“This year’s Congress sets a new benchmark for ambition. By connecting innovators, funders, policymakers, and business leaders, we are accelerating the deployment of scalable, real-world solutions.”

With its expansive programme, hands-on forums, and cutting-edge solutions on show, Innovation Zero World Congress continues to be the UK’s number one platform for driving progress toward a low-carbon economy.
