Maintaining and building new asphalt roads is a carbon-intensive process. In the UK alone, 25 million tonnes of asphalt are laid annually.ACLA offers a straightforward solution to significantly reduce these associated emissions.

ACLA® is a carbon-negative aggregate that can be simply added into an asphalt mix and provides a permanent carbon storage solution for the decarbonisation of asphalt.

Key Features:

  • Carbon Negative
  • Drop-in Solution
  • Same Asphalt Processing
  • Simple and Scalable Technology
  • No CAPEX Required
  • Only a 2-8% addition required
  • Used in numerous local road and motorway schemes across the UK
  • Trialled and tested as part of a National Highways Accelerator

Each tonne of ACLA® permanently removes 798kg of CO₂e from the atmosphere.

The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of ACLA® verifies GWP-TOTAL, A1-A3: -798 kg CO2e/T
