New collaboration for Elonroad

The Lund-based technology company Elonroad will conduct a three-month pilot project together with the Port of Oslo. The collaboration involves using Elonroad’s stationary automatic charging system for vehicles operating in the port, including a truck and a terminal tractor.
According to a press release, Elonroad’s solution can reduce the need for manual handling and reliance on large battery packs, thereby lowering vehicle investment costs and reducing environmental impact.
Project details:
-
Installation of two charging stations: one 150 kW and one 50 kW
-
Integration with vehicles from Volvo and Terberg
-
Implementation of digital services such as energy monitoring
The system installation is planned for February 2025. During the test period, the partners will evaluate key metrics such as charging efficiency, energy costs, and grid power peaks.
The project is funded by the City of Oslo and is part of the city’s goal to reduce emissions by 95% compared to 2009 levels by 2030. The Port of Oslo aims to become the world’s most environmentally friendly city port and cut emissions by 85% by 2030.
