DRIFT announced as KPMG Tech Innovator regional finals winner

DRIFT Energy has won the South West and Wales regional finals of this year’s KPMG Tech Innovator of the Year competition.

DRIFT was shortlisted among five other regional tech disruptors to pitch at the South West and Wales regional finals of the KPMG Tech Innovator UK 2025 competition on 19 June in Bristol. Mike Mackay, Head of Vessel Design, represented the company and went up against some of the best tech entrepreneurs in the region to pitch to a judging panel.

David Williams, KPMG Office Senior Partner – SW & Wales and one of this year’s judges, said: “DRIFT impressed us with their ambition, understanding of the opportunities and competition and the sustainability benefits of their solution. Thank you to all the incredible finalists who pitched. The level of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit on display was truly inspiring.”

DRIFT Energy will now take part in the UK national final on 17 July 2025, where if successful it could take the stage at a global level in Lisbon in November.
