RGU - Concluding Remarks

Assessment of a novel wind turbine system has been carried out in this work, performance characteristics of a VAWT integrated with an enhancer device has been compared against a standalone turbine. Detailed and systematic data analysis has shown that the turbine with the enhancer device generates 27 times more mechanical power made available for the generation of electricity than the conventional VAWT.

The results presented in this report clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the enhancer device for high power generation from conventional turbines, and has paved the way for further scientific investigations to be carried out in order to widen the spectrum of performance characterisation of the concept VAWT.
