Windstorm is a SME based in Aberdeenshire, which is currently developing an enhanced wind turbine system, which reduces the space required for windfarms by 99%.
For context, Aberdeen city requires 150MW of energy which currently requires a 25km² wind farm. By populating that same 25 km² wind farm with Windstorm systems we could generate sufficient energy to power 48% of homes in the UK.
Our goal is to significantly contribute towards achieving global net zero targets, whilst creating jobs and establishing a comprehensive manufacturing supply chain within the UK.
Validated TRL5 field trials indicate that our technology has the potential to do this in addition to negating many of the existing problems which currently impact global wind power production.
