Lighthouse Green Fuels (LGF) is developing one of the largest second-generation Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) facility's in the world - converting sustainably-sourced biomass into SAF at industrial scale.
Developed by Alfanar Projects, LGF represents a >£2 billion investment in Teesside and a flagship of the UK’s Jet Zero ambitions. Fully funded and engineering-ready, with Front-End Engineering Design completion due at the start of 2026, the facility will produce 180m litres of SAF each year.
From its base in Teesside, LGF is helping to establish a new green industry, creating thousands of jobs, strengthening regional capability, and positioning the UK as a global leader in sustainable aviation.
