As the MENA region scales up its renewable energy capacity and diversifies its power generation, the grid must evolve in tandem. Electrification of industry and transport, alongside large-scale energy storage, will be critical to balancing supply and demand, decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors, and ensuring long-term energy security. At the same time, digitalisation will provide the intelligence, flexibility, and real-time coordination needed to manage a more dynamic, distributed energy system.
