Kinetic Dryer
These images show Coomtech's pilot plant in Adlington, in the north of England. Wet material is fed into the system via an augur, and enters the drying line through a rotary valve, becoming entrained in an airflow. The drying line contains drying cartridges, which are the core components of the system. In these cartridges the material passes through a sequence of air knives where high-velocity, closely controlled contra-air flows strip the moisture from the surface of the material. The dried material then passes to a cyclone, where the moist air is vented and the dry air dropped into storage.
